Advancing the opening of spring to a sunny, colorful and lively Saturday, the second edition of Spring in the Marina took place on September 15th, from 9 am to 8 pm, bringing the concept of street fairs to Bahia Marina. With the aim of celebrating the season of flowers, enhancing the local culture and bringing to all those present the possibility of living a pleasant experience by the ocean, the event was a success with the public during its 12 hours of free programming.

For the first time in this event, an exclusive space was created for children, with toys, activities, workshops, performances and music. In the first hour, the little ones learned how to plant vegetables, in a practical workshop with the help of Dedo Verde (“green thumb”). With the guidance of monitors of the Baleia Jubarte Institute, the kids created and customized their own bilboquê, a sustainable toy made with the reuse of plastic bottles. The children were charmed by Bolha de Sabão Gigante (“giant soap bubble”) that was there not only for watching, but also for them to play with! The kid’s program finished with a super performance by the group Espaço Musical, which put everyone to dance to the sound of old and new children’s hit songs.

According to the business manager of Bahia Marina, Silvia Ferreira, this great participation of children, parents and adults in general surpassed all expectations. “We are delighted to be able to offer a wide range of quality programming and contemplating all ages.”

Another novelty of the second edition of Spring in the Marina was the fashion show to launch the spring / summer collections of three Bahia brands. Thereza Priore launched the collection “Sol 68″, with the addition of pieces by renowned jeweller Carlos Rodeiro. The concept created by Adriana Régis honors and updates the spirit of the year that has revolutionized fashion and behavior on a global scale. Mangaba BeachWear, with the collection “Summer”, presented its new line of bikinis, swimsuits, bags, hats and beach accessories. And Leila Daltro Accessories brought her spring/summer 2019 collection, “Beautiful Girl”, with their maxi necklaces, multiple bracelets and maxi floral earrings.

In total, it was a twelve-hour long free of charge programming, in an open space, with trees, many food and drinks options in a cultural environment. Those who spent time at Bahia Marina at any time during the event was able to check out artistic interventions such as the creation of the live panel with Elano Passos, or learn a little about Vanessa Álvim’s ink and watercolor art, or see Fabilu’s lettering, in addition to orchids, plants, succulents and handicrafts expo.

The artistic decoration of the event was signed by the origamist Sayuri Miura, who used the secular art of origami to create flowers and birds, composing a scenario with cages and hoops, in full spring style. The artist also created an origami costume, worn by the dancer Joely Pereira, who opened the runway.

“Our intention was to open the doors of Bahia Marina so that people could have pleasant experiences, that is why we chose the date, curated the programming and selected the brands presented with extreme care,” explains Leilane Loureiro, director of Bahia Marina.
